BREATHWORK GROUP INFORMATION

Experience transformative breathwork sessions at The Open Practice designed to enhance mental clarity, emotional balance, and physical relaxation. Our guided breathing techniques support holistic well-being by fostering mindful awareness and reducing stress in a safe, supportive environment.

Please find below important information about what to bring and considerations for safe Breathwork practice.

What to Bring:

  • Loose fitting, comfortable clothing, such as what you would wear to exercise or a yoga class

  • Water bottle

  • Paper and pen for note-taking, if you wish

  • Yoga mat, bolster, or meditation cushion if you prefer to sit on the ground

  • Please avoid eating for 2 hours before the session

  • Do not consume alcohol or use any recreational drugs on the day of the session

Contraindications:

The Breathwork practices we will cover are generally safe for everyone aged 18 and above. However, Breathwork is not recommended for the following:

  • Pregnant women

  • Individuals with detached retina or glaucoma

  • Those with cardiovascular or heart disease, including angina, previous heart attack, or stroke

  • People with high or low blood pressure

  • If you have an aneurysm in the brain or abdomen

  • Uncontrolled thyroid conditions or diabetes

  • Asthma sufferers

  • Those who have had recent surgeries or injuries to the ribs, sternum, or spine

  • Individuals with prior diagnoses of bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or psychiatric conditions involving psychosis

  • Those with untreated PTSD or trauma

  • People with epilepsy
